David Lynch said ‘fashion is film’, so it must be true. It has the power to take the viewer to a completely different time and place, matching the vision of the director and shaping the image. Since I can remember myself I always like two things. Watching tv till my eyes hurt and clothes. Trying to copy my favorite princess dress or dressing my dolls accordingly to the story i was creating and their role in it where some of my core childhood memories.

To this day I am one of those people who first looks at a person outfit -and perhaps sometimes judges them based of it- before anything else. The more i grow up the more i realise how much a person clothes can say about them, even if they do not agree. even if your mum or whoever dresse you, you chose them to dress you, threfore it still can say a couple of things about you. The costumes used in film can tell you a lot about the character, the theme and even change how you feel or view the film.

This is what I want to talk about in this blog. I am analysing the costume design in film, looking at what they are wearing and why.

Since I was always looking for a site that does what i plan on doing it and never was able to ffind one I decided to do it myself. Whether you are a film or fashion enthusiast or an inspiring costume designer or even director I’m so happy to finally share this blog with you, and I hope that you will enjoy!
